Allegany County Public Schools issued the following statement:
A threatening message was discovered by students today, Monday, October 19, 2015, at Washington Middle School and immediately reported to school administrators. School administrators, along with local law enforcement officials, temporarily evacuated the building while an inspection was conducted by law enforcement and the fire marshall. The threat was deemed non-credible, and students were returned to the building with no further disruptions to the instructional day. An investigation as to the source of the message is ongoing.
