Waterline Repairs To Cause Planned Outage Next Week

The City of Cumberland would like to notify the public that it's contractor Carl Belt, Inc will be making necessary repairs on the water line located in the Greene and Washington Streets intersection.  This work will begin on Monday April 25 at 5:00am.  The property owners in the area will be notified of this water outage.  Low to minimal pressure will be experienced for a short period of time on Monday April 25.  A total water service outage for this area will begin Tuesday April 26, 2016 at 5:00 am and is expected to last until 8:00 pm.  The properties in the immediate effected area will be notified individually. Areas not expected to be out of water service but could experience low flow and or pressure during the Tuesday outage will include the following (and possibly adjacent) addresses:

200-218 Avirett Ave

300-325 Avirett Ave

100, and 300-327 Beall St

408 Long St

200-218 S. Lee Street

234-323 Paca Street

632 Fairmont Ave

9-10 James Street

551-629 Patterson Ave

To allow for these repairs to be made a traffic control plan will be in effect.  Vehicular traffic is being asked to following the set detour route for the area.  Greene Street will be closed to all traffic from Bridge Street to Cumberland Street.  The Intersection of Cumberland, Washington and Baltimore Streets will be closed.  Baltimore Street from Greene Street to Canal Street will also be closed.  If there are any questions about the traffic control plan and closures please call City of Cumberland Engineering Dept 301-759-6600.
