According to the Cumberland Fire Department, an accidental fire destroyed an outdoor shed of a property in the 700 block of Gephart Drive early Wednesday. Cumberland City Fire Marshal Shannon Adams also responded. Investigation at the scene by Adams determined the fire was caused by an improperly extinguished fire pit. The fire consumed a 10-by-10-foot shed and its contents and damaged siding of the nearby residence. The occupants were evacuated when the fire broke out. No one was injured. Trees and an electrical line were also burned by the blaze. Firefighters were on the call for more than an hour.
