West Virginia Sees Increase in Poverty

Poverty rose slightly while household income dipped a little from 2010 to 2011 in the state of West Virginia, according to national statistics released this week. According to the American Community Survey, approximately 326,500 West Virginians lived in poverty in 2010. That number increased in 2011 to about 335,000, or 18.6 percent of the state's population.
