The president of Maryland Marriage Alliance, Pastor Derek McCoy, was the keynote speaker at Saturday’s Western Maryland Traditional Marriage Meet and Greet Rally held at Calvary Baptist Church on U.S. Route 220. It was an enthusiastic crowd on hand for what has become a hot button issue in the state. Recent polls seem to suggest that those opposed to same sex marriage are facing an uphill battle and will fall short of the necessary votes to reject the bill in November. McCoy, however, dismisses those reports saying there is a strong sense among many Marylanders’s to promote traditional marriage between one man and one woman.
