Dorothy Brobander Petersen, 94, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Lions Center Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Known as “Dot” Mrs Peterson was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Peterson, the former president of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce and one time member of the Cumberland City Council.

Dorothy honorably served her country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. She was a receptionist for Dr. Vincent. 

Surviving are her son, Robert Petersen, Jr. of Cumberland; grandchildren, Sherry Hurley and husband Jim of Martinsburg WV, and Jeremy Peterson of Cumberland; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, MD.
