The Allegany County Board of Zoning Appeals was set to vote on a special exception requested by developers of a proposed 19 turbine wind project on Dan’s Mountain- however that may be delayed . The project is not without controversy as there has been a very vocal group of opponants fighting the effort and urging elected officials to intervene. On Thursday, July 30th the Board received a motion for a “motion for continuance” filed by J. Matthew Gilmore on behalf of Stanley Lee Skidmore to postpone the established hearing date which had been set for August 11th. The board will how meet on Tuesday, August 4th at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Allegany County Commissioners meeting room to deliberate the request and render a decision regarding continuance.
