WMSR Superintendent Abruptly Resigns Position

According to well placed sources, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Superintendent Michael Gresham abruptly resigned his position this week only after learning that there were plans in place to demote him. Gresham posted his resignation letter on the official Facebook page of the railroad on Wednesday evening. Although Gresham was not immediately available, WCBC News confirmed the resignation with members of the railroad’s board of directors. One source said that while there was no “final straw”, there had been a somewhat “rocky” relationship between Gresham and some board members in recent years.  In his Facebook post, Gresham- who took the job in 2013- identifies John Garner, who started two years ago  as a volunteer, as his probable successor. The timing for the change is somewhat perplexing as Gresham told WCBC News in a recent interview that ridership has been growing- and the railroad has garnered national attention…
