Woes With Allegany Football

November 1st, 2011 by WCBC Radio

Finger pointing, fan frustration and general disharmony are common occurances when any sports team suffers though a difficult season- and that appears to be the case with the Allegany High School football Campers. Heading into this week’s homecoming clash with rival Fort Hill, the Campers carry just a 3-6 record. The team was a hot topic of discussion on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”  Monday, beginning with a call from Jeff Hedrick, who formerly served as a broadcaster of Allegany football on another Cumberland radio station. He had harsh words for the coaching staff and its treatment of players- even to the point of putting a players well being at risk when that player complained of having a helmet that didn’t fit correctly…

Minutes later, Allegany’s team physician Dr Sean McCaugh phoned the program and said that Hedrick has a vendetta against the Allegany football program, and that his story about putting a player at risk was fabricated…

If the story was fabricated then why did the Doctor say that he indeed stuck a rag in the childs helmet? A doctor who knowingly risks a childs safety deserves to be fired as team physician. A head injury is a head injury is a head injury. I think in this case you err on the side of safety.

Jeff Hedrick has a vendetta not only against the Allegany football program, but the school in general. Everything this person says needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
