Allegany County native and lifelong resident Ashli Workman officially assumed the role of county tourism director at the end of July- and she has hit the ground running.
Hired to fill the position that had been held for several years by Barb Buehl who has retired- Workman has a strong resume, most recently have served as resort marketing director at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
She tells WCBC News that she feels there are tremendous tourism assets as a foundation – pointing to the Great Allegheny Passage, Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority, historical landmarks and a growing arts community.
Ashli has spent her month on the job meeting with various stakeholder groups and she is planning additional sessions…
