WV AG Celebrates National Consumer Protection Week In Eastern Panhandle

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced his office will host various events across the Eastern Panhandle aimed at consumer education and fighting fraud as part of National Consumer Protection Week 2019.
 
The Attorney General collaborates with the Federal Trade Commission and federal, state and local agencies, consumer groups and national organizations to raise awareness about consumer fraud issues from Sunday, March 3, to Saturday, March 9.

“National Consumer Protection Week highlights consumer protection issues that our office deals with all year, every year,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “Scammers are always ready to take advantage of consumers to steal money.”

The week’s events include:

  • March 5: Noon to 1:00 p.m. — Identity Theft Presentation at Morgan County Senior and Family Services, 106 Sand Mine Road, #1, Berkeley Springs
  • March 6: Noon to 1:00 p.m. — Identity Theft Presentation at Hardy County Commission on Aging, 409 Spring Ave., Moorefield
  • March 8: Noon to 1:00 p.m. — Identity Theft Presentation at Grant County Commission on Aging, 111 Virginia Ave., Petersburg
