WV Consumer Rep Scheduled For Panhandle Visits

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced today that a consumer representative from the Attorney General’s Office will hold public events during April throughout the Eastern Panhandle. The office representative will educate consumers on the latest scams in their area, provide tips on how to guard their personal information and answer questions about consumer protection settlements.
 
Kanette Petry, a consumer outreach and compliance specialist with the office, will host the events, which are scheduled below: 

  • April 1: Noon – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at the Hardy County Commission on Aging, 409 Spring Ave., Moorefield
  • April 1:1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Wardensville Visitor’s Center, E. Main St., Wardensville
  • April 6: Noon – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Morgan County Senior & Family Services, 106 Sand Mine Rd., Ste. 1, Berkeley Springs
  • April 7:11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Anna Mae Reedy Senior Center, 103 W. 5th Ave., Ranson
  • April 11: Noon – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Berkeley County Senior Center, 217 North High St., Martinsburg
  • April 14: Noon – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at the Hampshire County Committee on Aging, Birch Ln., Romney
  • April 19: Noon – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at the Grant County Commission on Aging, 111 Virginia Ave., Petersburg
  • April 25: Noon – 1 p.m. Money Smart Week Mobile Office Hours at Pendleton Senior and Family Services, Inc., 231 Mill Rd., Franklin

“Keeping consumers up-to-date on scams, consumer protection settlements and consumer related issues is a big part of what we do,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “Having the opportunity to ask questions and speak with a representative directly is extremely beneficial to the consumer.”
 
The events are open to the public; reservations are not required.
