Customers of First Energy's Potomac Edison and Mon Power in West Virginia will see their electric bills go up on the average of $9 starting the first of the year.
The utility's Todd Meyers says most of the increase deals with the cost of fuel, but over a third of it is to deal with costs associated with cutting back vegitation near power lines to help avoid outages.
