On 07/29/2018, at approximately 1706 hours, Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office were on routine patrol in the area of LaVale, Maryland, when they observed a vehicle being operated without a required stop lamp. After observing the violation, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The operator was identified as James Michael Donaldson, 48, w/m of Burlington, West Virginia.
After making contact with Donaldson, it was learned that Donaldson was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Mineral County, West Virginia for Grand Larceny. During the investigation, it was also learned that Donaldson was operating a motor vehicle without insurance, as well as displaying registration tags issued to another vehicle. Donaldson was arrested, and is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Mineral County, West Virginia. Multiple traffic citations were also issued to Donaldson following his arrest.
