Animal Cruelty Arrest

Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 700 block of Maryland Ave. for a domestic assault complaint.  When officers arrived they made contact with the victim who advised that Jason Dillon assaulted her and a juvenile.  Officers spoke to Dillon who was yelling and causing a disturbance.  They advised him to keep the peace or he would be arrest.  Officer’s investigating the incident did not observe injuries at this time, and referred the victim to District Court for charges.  Officers were again called to the residence at 8:56 p.m. do to Dillon damaging property.  When officers arrived they found that Dillon had thrown and broken items all through the residence.  Officers also found that Dillon had mortally wounded a domestic animal.  Officers contacted Dillon and he continued to yell and cause a disturbance.  At this time Dillon was placed under arrest.  Dillon was then transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was charged.  Dillon was later taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance and held $3000 Bond.

Charges:   two counts 2nd Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Animal Cruelty
