Chesapeake Climate Action Network To Celebrate MD’s Two-Year Moratorium On Fracking

On Saturday, October 10th, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network is together to Allegany County to celebrate—Maryland’s two-year moratorium on fracking. An event is scheduled for 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Greater Cumberland at 211 South Lee Street. Marcellus Patriots for Land Rights founder Craig Stevens tells WCBC news there will be guest speakers, along with the Allegany County premiere of the new film: Groundswell Rising. This documentary features interviews with people from all walks of life and all sides of the political spectrum who are fighting against fracking. Stevens says the goal is not to engage in political debate, but rather to inform and educate area citizens. He says he is intimately familiar with arguments on both sides of the controversial issue…
