Deer Hunting Season Opens In Maryland

Firearms season for deer in Maryland begins today, six days after the start of West Virginia’s start up. and the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. The firearms season, often referred to as the rifle season, is the single biggest cropper of the deer herds according to the Department of Natural Resources. In 2014, Maryland hunters took 10,964 bucks during the two-week firearms season, down about 7 percent from the previous year. Garrett County led the state with 1,095 antlered deer. In Allegany County, 919 bucks were killed. The season runs through December 12th
