Four Indicted In 7-11 Stabbing Case

Four individuals were recently indicted in November by the Allegany County Grand Jury in connection with a stabbing which occurred in late September and have been arrested by members of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit. 33 year old Rasshammach Ijahfari Roberts, of New York, NY, 25 year old Nicole Lee Early, of Cumberland, 32 year old Micah Rayshell Humbertson, of Cumberland, 28 year old and Joseph Clement Chesterfield, of Cumberland, have all been charged.

On Monday, 09/28/2015, at 10:53 AM, the Cumberland Police responded to a reported stabbing at the 7-11 on Maryland Avenue. When Officers arrived, they found the 24 year old victim, who was suffering from stab wounds to the arm and torso. Members of the Cumberland Fire Department ambulance arrived shortly after and began treating the victim, prior to transporting him to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

The Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) was contacted and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. Based on that investigation, the following people have been indicted:

Roberts has been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd  Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

Early has been charged with Solicitation to Commit 1st Degree Murder, Solicitation to Commit 1st Degree Assault, and Solicitation to Commit 2nd Degree Assault.

Humbertson and Chesterfield have both been charged with Accessory After the Fact to Attempted 1st Degree Murder and accessory to the related charges.

All four defendants are currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center pending a hearing before a Circuit Court Judge.  Following an initial appearance, trial dates will be scheduled.  Assistant State’s Attorney Erich Bean will prosecute the cases.
