FSU Students Schedule Fracking Discussion

March 6th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Frostburg State University students are seeking members of the regional community to share their thoughts and opinions on unconventional natural gas extraction in the region at another Marcellus Shale Listening Event on Tuesday, March 10, from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Northern Garrett Rescue Squad headquarters, 851 First Ave., Friendsville, Md. The event, which is part of the students’ research project, is free and open to the public. FSU students and members of the Savage River Watershed Association will conduct interviews with area residents, asking questions regarding what they know and think about natural gas extraction; their concerns for the area, the local economy and its future; and more. Students will listen, record and respect a full range of opinions and attitudes without imposing their own.
