Gas prices drop in Cumberland

Gas prices on the rise across the nation and the state, but they are dropping locally. The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.43 for Friday, unchanged on the week, yet six cents higher than month ago prices.  Friday’s average remained $1.11 below year ago prices.  Maryland’s average for Friday is pennies lower than the national average at $2.38 per gallon.  The state average is three cents higher than last week and two cents more than last month’s price; however, today’s average still remains well below last year’s price as motorists save $1.18 per gallon. In Cumberland, prices are down five cents from a week ago, sitting at $2.32 a gallon this weekend.
