It appears as though the Maplehurst Country Club and golf course once again will stave off a planned public auction. Attorney John Coyle told WCBC News that the sale is off. The club and golf course was pulled off the public auction block in July, while an unnamed businessman was given time to consider purchasing the mortgage. Another sale however had been scheduled on the steps of the Allegany County Courthouse for Wednesday (August 20th) at 11 a.m. Although indicating that he was not at liberty to provide much in the way of detail due to a confidentiality agreement between the golf course and the potential lender, the president of the Maplehurst Golf Club in Frostburg, Ron Kealy tells WCBC News that negotiations for a loan are ongoing and that some additional time had been granted to the Club
