MSP McHenry Arrests Grantsville Man, Seeks Others

Tuesday morning, troopers from the Maryland State Police McHenry Barracks responded to US Rt. 40 in the area of the Cassleman River for a suspicious white van pulling a lawn mower that was missing a front tire. Troopers located the van a short time later at the Saint Ann's Church located on New Germany Road. Troopers identified the driver as Jeffrey Scott Miller of Grantsville, Maryland. Troopers later learned Miller had burglarized the 100 block of National Pike in Grantsville, stealing a lawn mower and various other items. The investigation also revealed the white van have been stolen from the 1200 block of National Pike in Grantsville. Further investigation revealed the individual had committed a total of 3 commercial burglaries, one residential burglary, and a theft of a motor vehicle. Miller stole a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 van from Hill Top Auto Center. Miller was arrested and charged with several counts of burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property, and one count of motor vehicle theft.

It is believed there are several other suspects involved with Miller and are also suspects in several other cases in Garrett County. Anyone with any information is asked to call the MSP McHenry Barracks (301-387-1101)
