After a fantastic season in which they finished with the second best record in baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates ran into the pitching equivilent of a buzzsaw last night, losing to Jake Arrieta and the Chicago Cubs 4-0 at PNC Park.
A listener to the WCBC Dave Norman Program was on hand for the game…
The Pirates had a couple of mini rallies, but were unable to dent the scoreboard.
Another interesting aspect of the game was when the benches empties after Pirates reliever Tony Watson hit Arrieta, who had hit two Pirates with pitches earlier in the contest…
