On Thursday March 6, 2014, at 10:30 am, a Cumberland City Police patrol officer observed Candice Hockman, age 32 of Cumberland, sitting overtop the railroad track bridge on Center at Knox Street. The area where Hockman was located is restricted for train use only with posted No Trespassing signs. Hockman was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed and served. Hockman was criminally cited for Trespassing and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

On Thursday March 6, 2014, at 8:12 pm, Cumberland City Police responded to a business at the downtown mall for an unruly patron. Upon arrival officers observed Curtis Coover, age 52, acting in a disruptive manner towards staff. As officers approached Coover, he began to swing his fists at the officers before being escorted out of the establishment and placed under arrest. Coover continued to struggle and resist the officers and broke an antenna to one of the police cruisers. Coover was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing and later taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond hearing. He was held on a $5,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES: Assault 2nd Degree, Assault on Police (2 counts), Disturbing the Peace, Destruction of Property, Disorderly Conduct.
On Thursday March 6, 2014, Cumberland City Police served a parole retake warrant on Dwayne Montaque-Bey, age 46 of Cumberland. The warrant was issued as a result of Montaque-Bey violating the conditions of his probation as a result of a previous arrest for the charge of Assault 2nd Degree. After being processed and served at the Cumberland City Police Department, Montaque-Bey was transported to the Western Maryland Correctional Institution where he was released to their custody to await a parole hearing.
