Police Report – Sunday 4/20/2014

An officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol Friday in the area of Virginia Avenue near Industrial Blvd. when a male subject riding a bike starting creating a disturbance by yelling profanity at the officer as he drove by.  After a brief chase, 22 year old John Tyler Brennan was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. 

 

Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on 35 year old Benjamin Wayne Hughes, of Cumberland, Saturday.  The warrant charged Hughes with disorderly conduct.  Hughes was served with the warrant at the Cumberland City Police Department.  Hughes was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond hearing and held on $3,000 bond.

 

Saturday, Cumberland City Police responded to 228 Cecelia Street for a domestic disturbance.  When officers arrived at the residence they spoke with the female complainant.  Officers were advised by the complainant that she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Jobe Osave McDowney.  Officers found McDowney and during the arrest, he allegedly scuffled with the policemen.  He’s being held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

 

Cumberland City Police Department responded to 617 North Mechanic Street for a domestic assault complaint Saturday.  Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the female victim who advised the officers that her husband, 26 year old Kevin Lee Gordon punched her, and walked out the back door.  Gordon was arrested for second degree assault and held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

 

Cumberland City Police Department responded Saturday to 302 Arch Street for an assault complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with several victims who advised the officers that John Tyler Brennan threatened them with a torque wrench and a knife.  Brennan was charged with 4 counts of 1st Degree Assault, 4 counts of 2nd Degree Assault, 4 counts of Dangerous Weapon Intent to Injure and Disorderly Conduct and held in lieu of $5,000 bond.
