Under Governor Larry Hogan’s plan, state highway user revenues would have been coming back to Western Maryland this year to go toward local road and bridge projects- however those efforts failed in the final days of the General Assembly Session. In the governor’s budget as presented in January were funds totaling $1.49 million dollars for Allegany County and its municipalities and $866,000 for Garrett County and its municipalities. Delegate Wendell Beitzel said that although funds were part of the senate’s final budget, it was not part of the house plan and it all fell apart in conference committee….
