State Fair underway in Maryland

The 134th edition of the Maryland State Fair is underway in Timonium. There is no live poultry judging at the fair this year, due to an order from the state agriculture secretary to prevent the spread of avian flu. Assistant General Manager of the Maryland State Fair Becky Brashear, tells Maryland's News This Week that there will be a special educational exhibit to promote the state's poultry industry. The fair covers 106 acres with rides, games, food. There will be a horse festival during the fair, including polo and jousting. There will be seven days of live thoroughbred racing during the fair. There will be a Latino Fest at the fair on September 6. Musical acts include R5 and Fifth Harmony. The Maryland State Fair runs through Labor Day
