Taxi Driver Robbed, Suspect Sought

On Saturday January 31, 2015, at 9:49 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to Boone Street for a reported Robbery.  Investigation into this matter revealed that a female employee of a local cab company had dropped off a fare on Boone Street when unknown male who was wearing a ski mask, ran to the cab, placed what was believed to be a knife to her neck and demanded her money bag.   The victim complied, turned over the money and the suspect fled the area on foot.  Patrol Officers canvassed the immediate area, located potential witnesses and obtained interviews.  A K9 tracking dog was utilized with negative results.  Crime Scene Technicians were called to process the vehicle for fingerprints and DNA evidence.  C3I investigators arrived and continued to investigate this incident.  The victim sustained a superficial wound that did not require medical attention.   Anyone with information to this incident is urged to call the Cumberland City Police Department at 301-777-1600.  The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, standing at about five feet five inches who was wearing a black and white flannel coat with blue eyes and blonde hair.
