Two Proposals Received For Development Of The Footer Dye Works

The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority announced Tuesday that two proposals were received by last Friday’s deadline for the development of the Footer Dye Works building. Last year, although 19 bid packages were picked up during the RFP process, ultimately none of those made bids.  Most of the questions during the brief half hour session, focused on the lack of information about the two bidders.  Acting Authority Chair Rick Thayer asked a representative of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office to explain the process, which dictates that specifics about the proposals cannot be made public until a contract is awarded. He was not certain however if the actual names of the companies bidding could be released at this time.  Thayer emphasized that the board will make every effort to have the process as open as legally possible…
