With temperatures this afternoon expected to soar above 90 degrees, and heat indeces even higher, local officials are advising residents to stay out of the heat.

Allegany County Emergency Services Director Dick DeVore said, "Take appropriate precautions. Keep well hydrated and pay close attention to the elderly and children. It goes without saying that hot cars are no place for children and pets."

Keep an eye on elderly neighbors and those who may have health issues.
