282 tests, still no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Allegany County

March 27th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Health Department and Allegany County Government report the following update on local COVID-19 testing to date:

Allegany County residents tested positive for COVID-19

0

Allegany County residents tested negative for COVID-19

202

Allegany County residents with COVID-19 results pending

80

Total Allegany County residents tested for COVID-19

282

Laboratories are struggling to keep up with the nationwide demand for testing. Therefore, it is taking longer for test results to come back.  Laboratories are prioritizing tests for hospitalized patients, symptomatic healthcare workers and emergency responders, symptomatic patients who are medically fragile and live in congregate housing such as nursing homes, and symptomatic high-risk unstable patients whose care would be altered by a diagnosis of COVID-19.

It’s obvious that the Health Dept. is testing their family & friends first, then local politicians, then those with means, etc. Everyone else is sent to the back of the line. Typical of local favoritism, corruption.
