City Man Jailed For Allegedly Assaulting Police

On Saturday, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department were on the scene of a barricade situation when a white male subject was walking on Maryland Avenue yelling and causing a disturbance with a group of subjects standing away from the scene.

The subject who was identified as Christopher Michael Freeman Sr. was contacted by officers and told to leave the area. Freeman refused to obey the officer’s orders and attempted to push one of the officers. Freeman was eventually placed under arrest after he refused to stop causing a disturbance.

Freeman was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. At the time of this release, Freeman was awaiting his initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

Arrested: Christopher Michael Freeman Sr. Age: 36 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charges: Assault on Police, Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey.
