3 injured in Canal Parkway crash

On Saturday at approximately 11:30 AM the Cumberland Police Department responded to the intersection of Canal Parkway and West Elder Street for a personal injury motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.  Timothy Bohn, 23 yrs of Cumberland, was operating a 1982 Chevrolet truck south on Canal Parkway when he indicated having difficulty braking.  Bohn attempted to turn the vehicle from Canal Parkway onto West Elder Street in attempt to slow the vehicle to a stop.  However, when Bohn attempted to turn, he traveled into the path of a 1998 Ford SUV operated by Chelsea Thomas, age 26 Ridgeley WV, that was traveling north on Canal Parkway.  The vehicles collided head on at the intersection.  Chelsea Thomas, Timothy Bohn and a passenger in Bohn’s vehicle, John Brennan 19 yrs of Cumberland, were injured as a result of the motor vehicle crash.  All three patients were transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Cumberland Fire Department ambulance for treatment of their injuries.  Timothy Bohn was found at fault in the motor vehicle crash and was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to Oncoming Traffic.
