Lonaconing Man Arrested On Animal Cruelty Charges

On 11/29/16, Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office were summoned to 45 Jackson Street, Lonaconing, MD for a report of animal cruelty. Upon arrival to the location Deputies met with Animal Control Officers who advised that they had seized several animals at the address. During the investigation Deputies learned that residents of the home wished to report the ongoing  mistreatment of pets in the home. 

Deputies were provided with a video  recorded by the residents which revealed  the repeated physical abuse of a Labrador mixed puppy belonging to Aubrey Alan Ashley w/m. 

After Deputies examined the Labrador they found the dog to be suffering from malnutrition.

At that time Deputies placed Ashley under arrest. Ashley was transported to the District Court Commissioners Office for an initial hearing.

Ashley was charged with the following:

Animal Cruelty causing unnecessary pain
Animal Cruelty failure to provide food.

Ashley was later placed in custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $6,500 bond. Ashley is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center.
