Saturday LaVale Fire Displaces Eight, Pets Perish

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's office says that eight people were displaced, and several pets perished, in a Saturday night fire at a home on Kansas Avenue in LaVale.

The blaze did $100,000 damage to the James and Nancy Whisner home,  The fire originated on the front porch, but investigators have not found the cause yet.  

Fifty local firefighters responded and had the flames doused in short order.
