Snow Emergency Plan in Effect

February 4th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

By authority of the Maryland State Police, Cumberland Barrack, the Snow Emergency Plan for Allegany County was placed into effect on Monday at 16:30pm.

This action was taken because of hazardous driving conditions caused by snow and/or ice covered roads.

When the “Plan” is in effect, all vehicles operating on designated Snow Emergency Routes must have chains, snow tires, or all-season radial tires.  Any vehicle parked on a Snow Emergency Route when the “Plan” is in effect is subject to being towed, and the owner may be fined.

Who is the person that made the decision to hold school today?! We alter school schedules for very cold temps, but are plowing through several inches of snow to get there today. I don’t get it.
