Pittsburgh Pirates RHP A J Burnett has been diagnosed with a strained flexor tendon, meaning that after a four week treatment and rehab period, he may pitch again this year.
Burnett had struggled mightily after the All Star break, pitching to an ERA over 10. He was placed on the Disabled List at the trade deadlline, with fears he had torn his UCL in his final year on the mound.
