Accident On Moores Hollow Road

On 01.07.2016 at approximately 10:00 PM, Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to Moores Hollow Road off of Rt. 51 for a reported motor vehicle crash with injuries. 

Deputies arrived on scene and discovered that a 2006 Dodge Durango, being operated by 35 years old Charles Raynor of Frostburg, was traveling south on Moores Hollow when his vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle traveled down a very steep embankment and came to rest approximately 120 feet from the roadway.

Raynor was transported to WMRMC by ambulance for apparent non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Raynor’s vehicle was checked by EMS and refused treatment.

Raynor was charged with speed greater than reasonable.

South Side Towing from Grantsville responded to the scene to remove the vehicle due to the steepness of the embankment and vehicle distance from the roadway. 

Moores Hollow Road was closed during the removal of the vehicle.The vehicle was removed and the roadway reopened at 1:40 AM.

District 16 Fire Department and Ambulance, Bowman’s Addition Fire Department and Ambulance and Wiley Ford Fire Department assisted in the incident.
