On Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at approximately 9:42 p.m. Allegany County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the area of McMullen Highway at Ketterman Ln, Rawlings for reported motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival Deputies observed a vehicle overturned in the wooded area along the northbound shoulder. The operator of the vehicle Derek Lee Cross, 29 of Cumberland, was entrapped inside the vehicle for brief time before being extricated.
Cross was transported to Western Maryland Health for treatment.
The Collision remains under investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office Crash Team with the assistance of the Cumberland City Police Team.
Units from Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department, Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department, and Paramedics with the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services also responded to the scene.
