God forbid they are asked to work beyond their part-time schedule for which they receive full-time pay, benefits and pension. They’ll close school a few more times when papers need graded and report cards figured.

      > This isn’t time off – the teachers and staff ARE working. It is not that hard to understand “professional development.”

      > Bob – Maybe you should do a little research next time before you comment. Teachers were in professional staff development this morning. They were not grading papers, etc. Also majority of teachers work well beyond their duty day to include evenings and weekends to get things ready for students. Also, teachers are not paid during the summer and many need to get jobs to help provide for their family.

So unless you are an educator in the system you need to research before you speak!

        > Why,; because those you laughably call “educator”s don’t need to “research” they just need to join the guild of snouts in the trough? ACPS is staffed by an endless flow of not very bright folks who got techin degrees from not very bright p’ofessers who got techin degrees etc., etc. from Frostburg techin college. When was the last time they sent a student off to MIT? The staff pass jobs on to the next generation to continue the fraud. Consider some past school principles and their get.
