ACPS Seeking “You Raise Me Up” Nominations

The Allegany County Public School System will host its 9th Annual Back-to-School Convocation for all employees on Thursday, August 24, 2017, and once again as part of this year’s event, “You Raise Me Up” recognition awards will be presented to two ACPS employees, one certified and one classified, whose actions are characteristic of someone who goes above and beyond the normal course of duty and responsibility to help students reach higher levels of success.

The Board of Education appreciates all employees who work on behalf of students in the Allegany County Public School System and want to give special recognition to those individuals who work every day to raise students up to their fullest potential.  To do so, the school system is seeking nominations of outstanding individuals whose work and commitment to students deserve special attention. 

Each year, the school board will honor two employees for “raising students up” during their annual convocation.  Individuals wishing to submit a nomination should complete the nomination form and return it to the Board of Education of Allegany County, Office of Public Information, 108 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD  21502 or via email at mia.cross@acpsmd.org.   

Nomination forms can be found on the school system’s website at www.acpsmd.orgThe deadline to submit a nomination is April 28, 2017.
