Compared to other areas of the world we are SO blessed. I pray it remains that way. Obviously no intent to be little those that have or will have it. Just counting our blessings.

    Dave, all good thoughts.

Sadly, we are lagging behind the curve. With our rural location and a fair amount of space between some of our population, we have a slight advantage.

But make no mistake, we’re just getting started, and the nine we know about suggest we probably have a hundred or more active cases.

If those people who are now infected, and most aren’t even experiencing symptoms yet, continue to stay inside, they will not pass this infection on to too many others. However, if some (or all) of them begin to socialize, we could hit many more cases in the next two to three weeks.

Please, be safe all. This is not a joke.

The United states went from 15 cases to 3,000 in 30 days 3/15/20. I live downtown Cumberland Md . Looking out at Mechanic St. today I lost count of how many vehicles went by in 15 min. Where’s everybody going ? Shopping ? Visiting family ? Most that are working wouldn’t be out driving at 1:30 pm I imagine. In the local stores , I was the only person with a face covering 2 days ago. At a local store at least 15 people were crammed into a line to check out . The idea of social distancing obviously not working in downtown Cumberland for most. Maybe many people can’t read , listen to , or understand the order in place. IDK . The United States went from 15 to 3,000 cases in one month.

      > And that’s my fear (what you describe) People think it’s a joke, or ‘politics’ or whatever. Some even say ‘why separate if no one is sick?’ Not realizing that we DON’T know who might have it and you stop it BEFORE we all get it! jeesh! Local ignorance will just get many more sick I fear, sadly.

        > Many people throughout the U.S. are telling me that it looks like business as usual even though restrictive orders are in place. Social distancing won’t work if only a few people do it. Hopefully all this will pass soon. I think NY reported hopeful numbers today.
