ALERT: Mineral County Nursing Home Has Positive Coronavirus Case

The Mineral County Health Department announced Saturday that an employee of Dawnview Center Nursing Home, in Fort Ashby, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee is a resident of Allegany County, and health officials in both counties will be working to determine contacts and who needs to self quarantine.

As reported on WCBC, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has ordered residents and staff at all state nursing home and long term care facilities to be tested.  To date at Dawnview, test results for 42 residents and 77 employees have come back negative, with the one positive case.  Results are still pending for 12 residents and 25 employees.
