School Bus Involved In Accident On Winchester Road

November 30th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County 911 reports a school bus, with children passengers, was involved in an accident on Winchester Road, near Old McDonald Road, this afternoon around 3:25 PM.

One adult and one juvenile were transported to Western Maryland Health System for treatment.

Winchester Road was closed for about a half hour and has now been reopened to traffic.

An eyewitness at the scene tells WCBC News that the damage to the school bus did not appear to be extensive, and that while several ambulances were on the scene, at that point, there did not appear to be an urgency to transport a number of patients.

Allegany County Public Schools released the following statement:

"ACPS bus #21 from Allegany High School was rear-ended by a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Winchester and Old McDonald Roads.  There were five students aboard the bus at the time of the accident; however, nobody on the bus sustained any injuries. The school will be notifying parents of the students on the bus of the accident and subsequent delay in drop-off this afternoon."
