All Children Adopted Under Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

It was a month ago today that Lt  Jim Dillingham with the Salvation Army in Cumberland told WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” that more than 200 children still needed to be “adopted” under the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. In what he describes as a Christmas miracle the community simply was overwhelming in its response. The Angel Tree program attempts to match needy children with area residents who want to provide a child with Christmas gifts.  Each Christmas season the Salvation Army accepts applications from families who have fallen on difficult financial times. If they qualify, the children are placed in the Angel Tree program where they are then chosen or, in the program’s language, “adopted” by individuals or businesses. Appearing on WCBC yesterday, Lt Dillingham thanked the community for coming through for the kids…
