While formulating budgets for FY 2018 has proven challenging for the Board of Education and the City of Cumberland- Allegany County appears to have had a much easier time. The County Commissioners will adopt its budget Thursday, complete with no significant rate increases; a slight cut in taxes and with a healthy reserve fund of $25 million dollars.
