Live Christmas trees and other natural seasonal greenery now have to be taken to Allegany County Government’s Yard Waste and Mulch Site, North Branch Industrial Park, 11700 PPG Road, off of Maryland Route 51, across from the former PPG Plant. All other seasonal Christmas tree drop-off/recycling sites are now closed. The Yard Waste and Mulch Site winter hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. All decorations have to be removed – no lights, no tinsel, no ribbon, no ornaments, etc. Flocked items are NOT accepted.
Allegany County Government appreciates the effort of all recyclers and encourages individuals, business, and other entities to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost.
