Some good fiscal news for the Allegany County Commissioners on Tuesday- and perhaps some good news for county employees. County Finance Director Jason Bennett provided a brief overview of the final fiscal 2011 general fund numbers and it reflects a surplus of close to $255,000. Bennett said that staff deserved much of the credit for essentially doing more with less, noting that 33 positions have been cut. He also pointed to 22 employees accepting an early retirement incentive. With a slight surplus, County Administrator David Eberly is recommending that a one time, across the board stipend be given to county employees- who have not received a raise in several years…
