For the first time in more than five years, the Allegany County Speedway will include dirt track racing- with the first event scheduled for next month. Citizen group member and local racing enthusiast Todd Brode formed The Greater Cumberland Raceway, a Maryland nonprofit organization that will promote the Cumberland Speedway under Brode. Rick Bittinger of Hyndman who has a long history involved in dirt track racing has been brought on as assistant general manager.
