UPDATED: Lock In Lifted at Allegany High School & Braddock Middle School

12:00 PM UPDATE:

Cumberland City Police has now lifted the lock-in at both Allegany High School and Braddock Middle School. They determined that there is no imminent threat to students or staff. The incident continues to be under investigation. 

10:20 AM UPDATE:

ACPS reports Allegany High School has been returned to normal status.

INITIAL REPORT:

Allegany High School and Braddock Middle School are currently in lock-in this morning at the direction of law enforcement as a precaution due to a threatening message received on social media. During lock-in, all school activities within the building continue as normal. Outside activities are suspended, and entry into the building is restricted. School system administrators are working collaboratively with local law enforcement, who are on site at both schools. The incident is currently under investigation.
